Duties:The Recovery Specialist II preserves Credit Union assets by controlling delinquent loan accounts and pending late payment reminders. This position optimizes collections on accounts while balancing the goodwill of members with the overall business interests of the Credit Union. The Recovery Specialist serves as a member advocate by assisting members in developing plans to bring accounts to a current status and collect on overdue accounts whenever possible. This position makes follow up telephone calls on delinquent loan accounts and maintains accurate records. Collects delinquent loan payments and/or recovers collateral.
Qualifications:Applicants must have two to five years of similar or related experience and a minimum high school diploma or GED. A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. This work involves motivating or influencing others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other companies and individuals becomes necessary. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the ability to interpret credit reports is required. Negotiation skills are essential as well as basic to intermediate mathematical skills in order to calculate decimals, percentages, and fractions.
