Position Summary: This position is responsible for managing all collection/ recovery activities, organizing workflow in the department, assisting with department policies and procedures to minimize loss and maintain acceptable delinquency levels, and recommends accounts for charge-off. Additionally, this position is responsible for setting the strategic direction of the Loss Mitigation Department. Coaches, motivates and supports staff. Enhances employee satisfaction through monitoring and effective feedback.
•Responsible for staffing, which includes employee performance review recommendations for salary adjustments, one-on-ones, initiating disciplinary action in accordance with established procedures and hiring/termination of staff within the department
•Establishes and monitors effective collection procedures on delinquent and charged-off accounts by reviewing reports and spot auditing staff work
•Oversees, analyzes, maintains, and creates collection queues in collections system to adapt to changing economic environments
•Develops new reports through Akcelerant or other Core system custom reports as needed
•Oversees collections agencies for collection of charged-off accounts and monitors their effectiveness
•Oversees the short-sale review process including preparation of documents, contact with realtors and members, and orders property valuations
•Manages the foreclosure process and foreclosure approval process including review of delinquent mortgage loans, preparation of documents, contact with realtors/attorneys/members, and orders property valuations

Education Requirements:
•Relevant college degree and equivalent work experience required
•Legal training preferred

Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements:
•Knowledge of all state and federal laws pertaining to consumer loans and the collection thereof
•Minimum of four years collections experience required
•Paralegal preferred
•Advanced knowledge of bankruptcy, repossession and foreclosure
•Minimum three years supervisory/management experience
•Strong PC skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office products, Akcelerent, and Symitar
•Systems administration knowledge
•Visual ability to interpret data
