What you will be doing: The Internal Auditor will execute and coordinate operational, financial, and compliance audits in accordance with the audit plan and generally accepted auditing standards.

Core responsibilities:
•Assess operational risk and recommend changes to the control environment to mitigate threats. Perform risk assessments for various departments.
•Coordinate co-source and external audits including scheduling, document preparation, communication facilitation, progress tracking, and timely reporting.
•Conduct assigned regularly occurring, periodic reviews such as account and activity validations and branch audits.
•Assist with examinations and audit projects.
•Conduct internal audits and control testing as assigned including research, planning, field work (interviewing, sampling, testing, and analysis), reporting and formulating recommendations, and completion of standard work papers in accordance with the Credit Union’s Internal Audit Procedures.
•Maintain the tracking of audit findings and ensure timely response and remediation.
•Create and maintain process and procedure in accordance with BPM methodology.
•Communicates effectively with the department stakeholders in a timely manner regarding information requests, visitation, recommendations, and findings
•Maintains an awareness of business initiatives that require internal control guidance and consult as needed

What you will need for this position:
•Degree in business, finance or accounting preferred. Experience acceptable substitute.
•Certification of training in areas of accounting or auditing preferred.
•Three to seven years accounting, audit or risk related experience; banking industry preferred
•Familiarity with Automated Work papers and/ or a Data Analytics tool is preferred
•Manual dexterity to input data on a keyboard (i.e., computer, calculator, telephone, PC, typewriter)
•Visual ability to interpret data from CRT screen or written documents.
