|Duties:||What you will be doing:|
The Senior Staff Auditor will execute and coordinate operational, financial, and compliance risk assessment and audits in accordance with the audit plan and generally accepted auditing standards.
Perform risk assessments for various departments. Assess operational risk and recommend changes to the control environment to mitigate threats.
Conduct internal audits and control testing as assigned including research, planning, field work (interviewing, sampling, testing, and analysis), reporting and formulating recommendations, and completion of standard work papers in accordance with the Credit Union’s Internal Audit Procedures and the IIA Standards.
Conduct assigned continuous and branch audits.
Use technology (automated work papers & Data Analytics) to increase effectiveness of audits.
Assist with regulatory examinations, co sourced audits and Annual Financial Statement audits.
Maintain the tracking of audit findings and ensure timely response and remediation.
Create and maintain process and procedure in accordance with BPM methodology.
Communicates effectively with the department stakeholders in a timely manner regarding information requests, recommendations, and findings.
Maintains an awareness of business initiatives that require internal control guidance and consult as needed.
Takes a continuous improvement mindset, consistently identifying areas of improvement or opportunity for the internal audit function.
|Qualifications:||What you need for this position:|
Education Requirements -
Degree in business, finance or accounting preferred.
Certification of training in areas of accounting or auditing (CPA, CIA, CFE, CISA etc.) required.
Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements -
Three to Seven years audit experience required; banking industry highly preferred
Three to seven years accounting or risk experience preferred
Highly proficient in computer skills including proficiency with Excel, Word, Automated Work papers and/ or a Data Analytics tool
Positive attitude, desire to learn, self-motivated and an effective team player
Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Effective time management skills
Ability to build effective relationships and promote customer focused solutions
Thrives in a team oriented, collaborative environment
