As a Risk Manager you will:
Research federal and state banking laws and regulations, reviews the credit union's policies and procedures, and ensures compliance with laws and regulations. Reviews all regulations pertinent to credit union operations and identifies and implements procedure and policy changes to ensure compliance.
Develop, administer, and monitor quality control programs that ensure the credit union's compliance with laws regulations and rules governing operations and product offerings. Conduct periodic checks to ensure that compliance is applied in practice as well as on paper. Provide management with information to accurately assess the institution's extent of compliance.
Prepare formal reports documenting compliance issues and providing recommendations to ensure management is appropriately informed of area activities adn any significant concerns. Schedule meetings with departments and supervisors, as necessary, to provide information on compliance changes that affect them.
Conduct internal testing of all consumer compliance regulations. Schedule external audits and testing of the credit union and supply information directly to the Supervisory Committee.
Respond to and maintain all correspondence related to regulatory complaints in coordination with the applicable business unit.
Work with external auditors, regulators, management, and other staff to ensure the credit union responds appropriately to exceptions and other recommendations.
Interface with credit union attorney and staff as needed to insure new regulations or changes to regulations are corrected incorporated into credit union documentation.
Serve as BSA Officer for the credit union. Responsible for developing, implementing, and administering all aspects of the Bank Secrecy Act compliance program.

Skills / Requirements
Professional, well-developed interpersonal skills necessary for communicating with internal staff as well as external auditors, management, the Supervisory Committee and the Board of Directors.
Must be thoroughly familiar with internal control issues and risk identification, and be able to provide recommendations for improvement.
Working knowledge of credit union products and services, policies, Federal Credit Union Act including bylaws and regulations that apply to federally chartered credit unions, Standard Operating Procedures, and state and federal NCUA regulations required.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Considerable judgment is required. Must analyze complicated factual situations, apply functional principles and develop solutions.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting or related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
A minimum of five years related experience in regulatory compliance, preferably in a financial institution.
NCCO (National Certified Compliance Officer), CUCE (Credit Union Compliance Expert), or CRCM (Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager) designations highly preferred.
Requires knowledge of single PC applications (Word, Excel, MS Outlook).
