Duties:As an Accounting Director you will:

Oversees accounting tasks performed by staff including accounts payable, investment bookkeeping, fixed asset/pre-paid set ups, wires, daily balancing, general ledger reconciliations, and clearing of outstanding items.
Monitors financial performance and identifies profit or loss areas for improvement. Develop revenue, expense and capital expenditures plans and related goals.
Responsible for the Asset Liability management reporting and participates on the ALCO. As part of the ALCO, makes recommendations to prevent interest rate risk exposures and liquidity problems and participates in setting of interest and dividend rates.
Conduct regular coaching sessions with direct reports and develop individual plans for training, improvement, growth, and/or career progression.
Establish, promote and meet department performance and operational initiatives. Track, document, and communicate progress in relation to established goals.
Ensure month end activities including accruals, fixed assets/pre-paids, prepare investment board reports, and ensure general ledger reconciliations are completed by assigned due dates.
Prepares the annual budget and monitors budget variances.
Complete various reports for regulatory and IRS reporting including the Quarterly 5300 Call Report.

Skills / Requirements

Associate Degree or two year equivalent required with a major in Accounting or associated field.
Possess an in depth understanding of accounting principles, theory, and application.
Ability to independently research, resolve, and support accounting transactions and account balances.
Possess ability to independently make and act upon decisions that support department credit union goals, objectives, and philosophy.
Bachelor\'s Degree required with a major in accounting, finance, or business. CPA preferred.
At least three years of experience in a similar or related field.
Proficient in use of personal computer, calculator, spreadsheet and word processing software applications.
Professional, well-developed written and verbal communication skills required.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with officials, employees, examiners, auditors, members and others in relation to the credit union.
