We are seeking a Lending Manager to guide our lending team. This essential role will plan and direct the company's overall lending and collections activities in accordance with established objectives and philosophies. This position reports to the VP of Operations, and will oversee all aspects of the company's lending, collections, underwriting, credit reporting, and processing functions, and will work closely with direct reports to support front line and Financial Life Coaches (Loan Officers) staff.

Duties:RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

Manages the Lending, Mortgage and Collection departments to maximize productivity, efficiency, and the potential of all human assets of the company, including: hiring, directing job assignments, monitoring staff performance, coaching, counseling, training, assuring compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational vision, mission, values, policies and work rules. (30%)
Responsible for managing corporate underwriting. Ensures that loans are well-documented and conform with applicable terms and underwriting limits while maintaining accountability to centralized loan processes and procedures. Responsible for ensuring loan audits are performed to maintain accuracy and consistency in our processes. (25%)
Monitors collection efforts, including: weekly review of delinquency levels, review and decision work-out requests, and review accounts to be sent to a third-party collector. Analyzes troubled assets (loans and shares) and recommends strategies to address negative trends and communicates outcomes to Management. (15%)
Responsible for supporting direct (and indirect) staff in order to achieve corporate lending and collection goals and objectives. (15%)
Other duties as assigned by Executive Leadership Team. (5%)
Participates in the creation and maintenance of lending products and initiatives in accordance with the organizations strategic initiatives. (5%)
Assists in the maintenance of loan procedure and policy manuals, including: updates, revisions and adherence to regulations. Makes recommendations regarding loan policy and underwriting guidelines. Seek and maintain vendor relationships related to the needs of the consumer, mortgage lending and collections departments. (5%)
Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
Qualifications:QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience: Two to five years of similar or related experience, including time spent in preparatory positions.

Education/Certifications/Licenses: A college degree.

Maintains the financial integrity of the Credit Union Ability to communicate professionally, with courtesy and tact when dealing with management, staff, members and vendors.
Participates in all necessary Credit Union meetings, training sessions, community events and covering other branches as needed. Performs other duties as may be assigned by your supervisor. Ability to motivate, train and supervise employees and maintain an effective and efficient schedule of work flow within areas of responsibility.
A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required to be an effective subject matter expert in the position. In-depth dialogues, conversations and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature is a normal part of the day-to-day experience. Communications can involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance.
Other Skills

Ability to perform basic and complex financial calculations.
Ability to interpret policies, procedures, regulations, and laws as it pertains to areas within your responsibility.
Understanding and knowledge of Credit Union operations, business practices, products, services, philosophy and goals.
Ability to read and write in English.
Knowledge of grammar, punctuation and spelling rules. Ability to work under pressure with flexibility.
Detail-oriented with the ability to coordinate a variety of activities and projects and simultaneously prioritize tasks and meet deadlines with minimum supervision.
Must be a self-starter with the ability to perform detailed work accurately. Works well independently, as well as a team player.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but involved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Knowledgeable of computer system concepts and methods, and spreadsheet and word processing software programs using Microsoft products.
Familiar with data entry.
Using Windows in a network environment. Basic knowledge of filing systems.
ADA Requirements

Physical Requirements: Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.

Working Conditions: Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.

Mental and/or Emotional Requirements: Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
