The Quality Review Specialist role is responsible to study and evaluate credit union compliance issues with an emphasis on the Bank Secrecy Act; assists with evaluating the Credit Union’s compliance with applicable rules and regulations; reports status of the evaluations and makes appropriate recommendations for the correction of applicable regulatory changes; and provides general support for all areas of Risk Management and Operations. Adheres to all Federal and State laws and regulations governing applicable to the Credit Union, including the Bank Secrecy Act.

Essential Functions include:

*Performs internal department audits and assessments, including but not limited to: Cards Audits, Cards On The Spot (COTS) audits, Complex Accounts audits (Trusts, Estates, Custodial, Memorial Accounts), Signature Guarantee audits, Wire Transfer audits, ACH audits and branch documentation verifications.
*Reviews and evaluates file maintenance reports produced from multiple sources, including but not limited to: IRS File maintenance, Automatic Share Transfers and Exceptions, Dividend Posting Exceptions, Certificate Activity (Early Withdrawals, Maturity Exceptions, Renewals, Maturity Dates, Dividend Rate Changes), Fee Exceptions
*Advanced knowledge of Currency Transaction Reporting (CTRs). Responsible for forms audits and submission to ERM in a timely manner according to government requirements. Capable of answering questions and reviewing reports to gather all necessary information.
*Coordinates and provides oversight of the Conflict of Interest process for all employees.
*Proficient at the evaluation and processing of intricate levels of account maintenance. Provides IRA and HSA audit support.
*Monitors and assigns requests for information from the Social Security Administration (SSA).
*Evaluates and processes Operations returned mail.
*Basic knowledge of dormant and escheat account processes and procedures.
*Basic IRS knowledge in the areas of accounts with no SSN/TIN, W8-Bens and Backup Withholding.
*Serves as a subject matter expert in the areas of complex deposit products, credit union services, operational policies/procedures and compliance information; maintains a knowledgeable understanding of research methods and resource options to answer questions and resolve any discrepancies regarding members’ accounts.
*Helps to identify process and procedure gaps and enhancements for basic and advanced topics. *Collaborates with team members in an effort to improve overall efficiency and quality.
*Provides knowledgeable support and testing capability on various system upgrades and annual projects.
*Ensures account accuracy, proper storage of member information and adheres to privacy standards as well as other regulatory requirements.
*Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:Required Education and Experience:

*Equivalent to a two-year college degree, completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school, or demonstrate experience within financial institutions.
*Minimum three years of similar or related experience.
*Attains the Certified IRA Professional (CIP II) certification.
*Proficient in effective and positive verbal and written communication.
*Must have an ability to deal with sensitive situations and resolve member issues with courtesy, professionalism and integrity.
*Must be detailed oriented.
*Demonstrate analytical abilities, decision making and problem solving skills.
*Willing and able to learn/apply new skills and software applications; adaptable to change.
*Maintain a good understanding regarding departmental procedures and applicable regulations with emphasis on Reg D, Reg E, BSA, OFAC, IRS and IRA/HSA rules and regulations, Colorado Statutes general information.
*Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
