Description:Canyon State Credit Union is in search of a visionary and strategic Vice President of Lending to oversee and monitor the Lending and Recovery functions. As a member of the senior management team reporting to the CEO, this position will be responsible for the vision, guidance and direction in promoting credit union lending products and services while providing strategic leadership for the credit union's consumer, real estate, business lending and collections departments. The successful applicant will be effective at evaluating and developing all operational aspects of current and future lending and collection functions. Equally as important will be the ability to work with staff to cultivate lending and collections teams ensuring future success for the credit union.



The ideal candidate will be a flexible and forward thinking individual with excellent communication, coaching, analytical and leadership skills. They will stay well-informed with trends and changes within the industry and participate in strategic planning while ensuring all loan and collection programs are used efficiently to assist with the goals of the Credit Union. A Proven ability to develop and implement the strategic direction of all lending operations to deliver exceptional member service, loan growth, portfolio mix and quality, and product development. Ensure service to members, branch and other production staff are delivered promptly, professionally and efficiently. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, creative, and financially savvy individual with vision and leadership characteristics necessary to ensure continued financial performance, while expanding the organization's loan portfolio. The successful candidate will drive the development of products, services and procedures and will coordinate the planning and budgeting processes for reporting departments. Establish and maintain commitments and professional business relationships with employees, members, vendors, the community, professional organizations, and Credit Union trade organizations. Establish and monitor efficiency standards for all functions and staff to ensure efficient, timely and accurate processing and servicing of Mortgage and Consumer loans. Develop and implement related policies, procedures, and workflows.



This position requires strong collaboration with multiple departments and staff and also being able to establish good relationships with clients and vendors. The ideal candidate must have robust interpersonal and management skills, as well as demonstrate excellent communication and diplomacy skills. A Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of five years of progressive lending experience in all areas of lending and collections is required. Must have strong supervisory skills as well as be organized and perform in a multi-task environment.

Duties:Responsibilities Include:

Oversee all lending and recovery operations of the credit union.
Actively contribute to quality member service, growth and profitability.
Provide analysis on trends in lending and industry lending opportunities to guide strategic planning.
Identify and maintain high standards of lending and recovery reporting, record-keeping, and complex regulatory compliance.
Manage and oversee the direct loan portfolio to ensure strong organizational financial health.
Regularly provide reports to CEO, senior management team and credit union board of directors on the progress of strategic goals and objectives.
Lead and direct the staff and operations of the lending and recovery departments.


Qualifications:To be successful in this role, qualified candidates will have:

At least 3 - 5 years of progressive lending management and underwriting experience in consumer, real estate and business lending in credit unions, community banks or comparable financial institutions.
Experience in managing loan portfolios.
Knowledge in financial institution products, services, and policies.
Knowledge in government regulations and legal requirements involving lending, collections, insurance, and related functions.
Proven track record of successful managerial experience and staff development.
College degree is a plus, but not required providing there is equivalent experience.
